AdventHealth Lenexa City Center adds new Progressive Care Unit to meet needs of growing community

AdventHealth Lenexa City Center is expanding care close to home with the opening of a new progressive care unit (PCU).

The unit and its care team provide specialized care for patients recovering from serious illnesses, major surgeries and ongoing health conditions who need more monitoring and support than a standard hospital room provides but do not need intensive care.

The addition of the 12-bed PCU to AdventHealth Lenexa City Center’s specialty services—including digestive, emergency, heart and vascular, a dedicated Infusion Clinic, orthopedics, pain management, primary care and surgery—supports patients and families in the growing Lenexa community by bringing specialized inpatient care closer to where they live.

Since opening in July 2025, AdventHealth Lenexa City Center has continued to grow, including the addition of AdventHealth Medical Group Primary Care at Lenexa City Center and the groundbreaking for a second medical office building expected to open in early 2027.
