Josie Clayton, PA-C, Joins AdventHealth Women’s Care in South Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. Women in South Asheville will soon have greater access to compassionate, faith-based women’s care with the addition of Josie Clayton, MPAS, PA-C, to AdventHealth Medical Group Multispecialty at South Asheville. Clayton joins the OB/GYN team to support women with care that honors the whole person — body, mind and spirit — through every season of life.

Clayton joins AdventHealth after extensive clinical training across women’s health, pediatrics, primary care, behavioral medicine, surgical care and inpatient medicine. Her experience includes a dedicated rotation in Women’s Health/OBGYN at AdventHealth, where she trained under Kenneth Jackson, MD, FACOG, and developed a strong foundation in patient-centered, compassion-driven care.

In her new role, Clayton will partner with patients to provide preventive and routine gynecologic care, support during pregnancy and childbirth, and ongoing guidance through life’s changing health needs. She is passionate about helping women understand their options, feel confident in their care decisions and build trusting relationships with their care team.

“At AdventHealth, our focus is caring for the whole-person - body, mind and spirit,” said Christy Sneller, MBA, Vice President of Physician Services for AdventHealth in North Carolina. “Josie’s heart for service and her commitment to faith-based, patient-focused care align beautifully with our mission. We’re excited to welcome her as she begins caring for women in the South Asheville community.”

Clayton shares that her decision to join AdventHealth is deeply personal and mission aligned.

“AdventHealth’s mission speaks directly to my heart,” Clayton said. “I believe health is more than treating symptoms. It’s about honoring every patient’s story and supporting their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. My goal is for every woman I care for to feel seen, heard and valued.”

Clayton’s approach to care is rooted in listening, collaboration and trust. She believes in empowering patients by helping them understand their health, treatment options and long-term wellness goals. Her warm, relational style reflects her belief that healing grows out of compassionate connection.

Having spent her entire life in Asheville, Clayton is excited to give back by caring for the community she has always called home. Outside of work, she enjoys running, lifting weights, reading, baking, cooking and being active in her church. She and her husband, Coleman, were married in 2025 and love being part of the vibrant Western North Carolina community.
