James Keeton was honored with a special Leadership DAISY Award for his extraordinary compassion and strong example of loving leadership.
AdventHealth Gordon is proud to announce that Director of Inpatient Nursing James Keeton, MSN, CMSRN, has been honored with a special Leadership DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses, a recognition that celebrates the compassionate care nurses provide every day.
James was honored with this award for his compassionate care for his patients, and for setting an example of inspiring, loving leadership for his teammates. He is the first at AdventHealth Gordon to be recognized with this special leadership award.
James’s nomination came from an inspired member of his team, who chronicled an example of James’s extraordinary nursing: “I nominated James because in a particular incident, I heard a woman crying and begging God to explain why things were happening... When James walked up, he instantly got on his knees in front of this woman and began to wrap her in a hug just like Jesus does. It made such an impact on my life and my outlook on my job to know he cared enough to comfort her in the time of unfortunate news the doctors had given her about her mother.”
The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation to honor nurses who go above and beyond in their service to patients and families. James joins a distinguished group of nurses across the country who have demonstrated excellence in clinical skill and extraordinary compassion.
If you or a loved one has been a patient at AdventHealth Gordon and would like to nominate an extraordinary nurse for the DAISY Award, please visit https://www.adventhealth.com/hospital/adventhealth-gordon/form/nomination/.
