FLAGLER, MARION AND VOLUSIA COUNTIES, Fla. — For patients choosing where to seek care, safety is often the first concern.
That concern may be easier to navigate with the latest grades from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit that evaluates how well hospitals prevent medical errors, injuries and infections.
AdventHealth DeLand, AdventHealth Fish Memorial, AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach, AdventHealth Ocala, AdventHealth Palm Coast and AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway each received an “A” Hospital Safety Grade, the highest possible rating.
“Recognition like this reflects the accountability and teamwork required to deliver care our community can trust,” said Rob Deininger, executive vice president and CEO of AdventHealth’s East Florida Division. “Patient safety comes from consistent use of our clinical processes over time, and teams staying focused on the details for every patient. It’s also one of the clearest ways we live out our mission.”
Across Flagler, Marion and Volusia counties, these recognitions reflect how consistently these hospitals have performed on measures tied to patient safety.
That track record spans years.
AdventHealth DeLand has earned 23 consecutive “A” grades, the longest-running streak in the region, followed closely by AdventHealth Fish Memorial with 22 straight “A” grades.
AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach has earned five in a row, and AdventHealth Ocala has reached seven consecutive “A” grades.
This is the first time AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway has been eligible to receive a grade since it opened in 2023.
For patients and families, these recognitions offer a clear signal when making healthcare decisions, whether planning a procedure or facing an unexpected visit.
Leapfrog assigns grades twice a year, using more than 30 measures. The program is peer-reviewed, transparent and publicly reported, giving patients a way to compare hospitals based on safety performance.
