‘Hope’ finds its home at new Pharmacy of Grace location thanks to the support of AdventHealth Shawnee Mission

MERRIAM, Kan. — A new prescription-filling robot named Hope was warmly welcomed at Pharmacy of Grace’s Shawnee location during a naming ceremony Aug. 6.

Hope will help fill prescriptions more efficiently, giving the Pharmacy of Grace team more time to focus on direct patient care.

A certificate announcing the name of Hope, the automated medicine robot, and a commemorative AdventHealth heart badge that reads "I care for you like my sister Gracie."

The robot, an automated ScriptPro system, was made possible by a $175,000 donation from AdventHealth Shawnee Mission.

The donation supported Pharmacy of Grace’s expansion as it opened its second full-service location in Shawnee on July 15.

The new location comes at a time when many residents still face barriers to care, including the cost of medications and lack of insurance.

The mission of Pharmacy of Grace is to improve access to prescription medication for uninsured and underinsured individuals and to increase the number of prescription medications available to vulnerable populations in Kansas.

For AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, the donation reflects a broader commitment to caring for the community beyond the hospital walls. The technology is already helping expand access to essential medications and pharmacy services for neighbors in Johnson County.

Pharmacy of Grace asked AdventHealth Shawnee Mission team members to help name the new robot. After a hospital-wide naming campaign, "Hope" was selected as the top choice.

To mark the occasion, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission advocacy and community leaders, Pharmacy of Grace founders and staff, and U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids attended the Aug. 6 ceremony.

Hope also received an honorary heart badge, a symbol familiar to patients cared for at AdventHealth hospitals across the United States.

Hope’s badge proudly reads: “I care for you like my sister Gracie.” Gracie is the name of the ScriptPro robot at Pharmacy of Grace’s Kansas City, Kansas, location.
