ORANGE CITY, Fla., March 2, 2017 Florida Hospital Fish Memorial has selected Beth Grant to serve as senior chaplain.
In the role, Grant will lead the hospitals pastoral care department, which consists of contract chaplains and volunteers that help provide spiritual care and emotional support to every one of every faith including employees, patients, and visitors. In addition, Grant will be responsible for planning and executing spiritual activities and functions of the hospital, emphasizing the hospitals mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.
Grant has 17 years of experience as a chaplain and has been a staff chaplain at the 175-bed hospital in Orange City since 2014. She has specialized experience as a chaplain in various services, including hospice care, high risk labor and delivery, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and pediatric oncology.
When she was 16 years old, she felt the call to chaplaincy and accepted with a willing heart.
A Longwood resident, Grant was born and raised in Florida and attended high school at Forest Lake Academy in Altamonte Springs. She received a Bachelor of Arts is in religious studies from Southern Adventist University and a masters in clinical ministries from Loma Linda University.
In 2010, she was commissioned by the Seventh-day Adventist church and endorsed by the general conference of Seventh-day Adventist Chaplains Ministry. In 2013, she earned her board certification from the Association of Professional Chaplains.
Florida Hospital Fish Memorial is very sentimental to her: the very first patient she saw in-training was at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial during a college summer internship.
