AdventHealth Gordon is proud to announce that Derek Shawgo, RN, has been honored with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses, a recognition that celebrates the compassionate care nurses provide every day.
Derek was chosen for his exemplification of the values of kindness and teamwork, and for his positive impact on patient experience.
One nomination for Derek came from a fellow nurse, who stated, “I would like to nominate Derek for the DAISY award in recognition of his unwavering compassion, professionalism and the exceptional care he provides for his patients. The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation to honor nurses who go above and beyond in their service to patients and families. Derek joins a distinguished group of nurses across the country who have demonstrated excellence in clinical skill and extraordinary compassion.
