Thanks to a gift from the AdventHealth Daytona Beach Foundation, AdventHealth Daytona Beach is the only facility in Volusia and Flagler counties with a new state-of-the-art technology to precisely navigate breast tumors before surgeries to maximize safety and comfort.
Elucent’s EnVisio® Surgical Navigation System and SmartClip® technology is a groundbreaking tumor marking system that reduces pain and increases accuracy during breast cancer surgery. Physicians use this system to implant wireless tissue markers during a breast biopsy or any time before surgery.
“Designed to improve patient safety and comfort by reducing the amount of tissue that needs to be removed during surgery, this new technology is a significant improvement and it eliminates the need for an additional procedure,” said AdventHealth general surgeon Dr. Christopher Allen Grove.
This technology is also available at AdventHealth Altamonte Springs, Apopka, Celebration, Heart of Florida, Kissimmee, Orlando, and Winter Garden.
Members of the community can support advancements like this by contacting the Foundation at Call386-231-5102 or by visiting adventhealthgive.com/daytona.
