Another successful Summer Fitness Program has come to a close, bringing together community members who spent the summer encouraging one another, building healthy habits and making lasting friendships.
Hosted by AdventHealth Manchester, this year's program welcomed 28 participants who committed to improving their health through regular exercise and accountability.
Classes were held every Tuesday and Thursday throughout June and July at the Clay County Middle School gym.
An impressive 80% of participants attended every session, demonstrating their dedication to living healthier lives.
The results speak for themselves.
As a group, participants lost a combined 88 pounds, reduced their body mass index (BMI) by a combined 46.7% and decreased their body fat by a combined 55.4%.
Beyond the numbers, participants gained confidence, motivation and the support of others who shared similar health goals.
At the conclusion of the program, participants gathered to celebrate their accomplishments and recognize individuals for their outstanding achievements.
This year's top finishers include:
- 1st place: Charlene Dezarn
- 2nd place: Diana Hicks
- 3rd place: Connie Fields
Three youth participants who faithfully attended each session were also recognized with special prizes for their commitment throughout the summer.
The success of the program would not have been possible without the generous support of community partners and volunteers.
AdventHealth Manchester extends sincere appreciation to Clay County Public Schools for providing the Middle School gym as the program's home, Caitlyn Gregory and the Family Resource Youth Services Center staff for their ongoing partnership, and Paychense Henson, whose dedication and encouragement as the program's fitness trainer helped inspire participants every step of the way.
A special thanks also goes to every participant who arrived early to help set up, stayed afterward to clean up and encouraged one another throughout the summer. Their teamwork and positive attitudes helped create a welcoming environment where everyone could succeed.
AdventHealth Manchester is proud to offer programs that support healthier lifestyles and strengthen community connections.
