Celebrating 50 Years of Dedication: AdventHealth Dade City's Remarkable Journey - YouTube
DADE CITY, Fla (October 12, 2023) – This October, AdventHealth Dade City celebrates 50 years of service to the people it proudly calls neighbors. This is a special milestone that has one employee, Cassandra Bedgood, looking back at the 23 years she has contributed to the legacy of AdventHealth Dade City.
Bedgood is an AdventHealth Senior Employee Experience Partner whose connection to the hospital that started with her birth.
"I was actually born here at AdventHealth Dade City, and I started working when I was 17 years old,” Bedgood said. “My parents said if you want a car, you gotta get a job.”
At age 17, she began her work journey at the hospital in the medical records office.
"I was working in the medical record office back when we actually had paper to go through and that was a part of my job, was to get positions, signatures and file records,” she said.
Bedgood’s journey as a mother also found its roots in AdventHealth Dade City when she gave birth to her firstborn, Bryson, there.
"Bryson was born in Dade City and the care I received was phenomenal. I mean, coworkers were there to support me, cheering me on, and I just felt the love,” she said. “Truly. I felt the love from the staff."
When asked what AdventHealth Dade City means to the community, Bedgood doesn't hesitate to emphasize the hospital's unique role.
"I think it's a very small, family-oriented facility,” she said. “If people in the community are looking for that type of relationship, where it's family-oriented, AdventHealth Dade City is the backyard neighborhood hospital. It's very intimate, and you have really great care and really great people there. Fifty years in the community is amazing, and I'm just happy to be a part of it."
Reflecting on the hospital’s progress, and looking to the future, Bedgood says it’s been a journey from the Flintstone's to the Jetsons, “where all the technology and advancements have flourished. Especially when AdventHealth acquired Dade City in 2018, it marked a turning point, ushering in a new era of technology and resources that transformed the hospital's capabilities.”
AdventHealth Dade City's remarkable journey over the past 50 years is a testament to its commitment to providing exceptional healthcare while nurturing deep-rooted relationships within the community. As the hospital embarks on the next chapter, there's no doubt that the future will be as bright and promising as their past has been impactful.
AdventHealth Dade City's legacy continues to unfold, with Cassandra Bedgood and many others proudly contributing to its rich tapestry of service and care.
“Hey, we're still here. We've been here for 50 years, and we're going to be here for another 50 years, if not more.”
AdventHealth Dade City will host a celebration of 50 years on Sunday October 15 at the AdventHealth Dade City Fitness Trail, located at 13100 Fort King Road, Dade City, Florida. It will be from 1 pm to 4 pm. There will be free family fun activities, giveaways and refreshments.
