NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla., April 10, 2019 — Atlantic Center for the Arts (ACA) received a $5,000 sponsorship from AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach. These funds will support the ACA’s arts and wellness programs which fund two programs each month in 2019, such as soundwalks, intuitive painting, and expressive journaling.
“We are really excited about our partnership with the Atlantic Center for the Arts and their program that enriches our community with the arts,” said Dr. Dennis Hernandez, AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach CEO. “With a focus on wellness, programs like this allow for creative expression and provide therapeutic remedies. They align well with our mission at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach to provide care that is centered on the whole person.”
“ACA’s arts and wellness initiative is an integral part of connecting the arts to community health, and the support of AdventHealth brings this goal directly into the fabric of society,” said Eve Payor, ACA Director of Community Programs.
In 2012, ACA began to integrate various forms of the arts into its community programs and in healthcare settings. The ACA staff work with a team of professional artists to create programs that increase the health and wellness of elders, caregivers, veterans, active adults and students. The programs support healthy living and reach thousands of local residents.
In addition to its internationally acclaimed artist residency program, ACA offers more than 200 free community programs each year, engaging 70,000 participants annually.
