WINTER GARDEN, Fla. — AdventHealth Winter Garden is celebrating one year since the opening of its inpatient tower at the hospital. The $229.5 million expansion includes 80 private rooms and has allowed AdventHealth to provide expanded, critical services for residents in fast-growing West Orange County.
Since the opening of the tower, more than 30,000 patients have received whole-person care at the hospital. In addition to the inpatient tower, new health care services have been introduced including orthopedics, advanced gynecology, cardiology, gastroenterology, general and robotic surgery, neurology, spine health, colorectal and urology.
“This has been a transformative year for us at AdventHealth Winter Garden. It’s an honor to serve the local Winter Garden community and surrounding areas,” said Kari Vargas, CEO of AdventHealth’s Northwest Market, which includes Seminole, West Orange and South Lake counties. “Our commitment to our patients is to provide accessible, state-of-the-art care, and we are keeping that promise to our community.”
For emergent needs, the AdventHealth Winter Garden ER continues to provide 24/7 care to the community. With 21 acute care bays and quick access to critical services and operating rooms, the space is equipped for the most severe types of injuries, making it easier for residents to receive care and stay close to home.
“Providing care in a convenient location close to home is a key part of our mission,” said Dr. Miles Bennett, chief medical officer for AdventHealth Winter Garden. “As we know, loved ones' presence and emotional support are crucial for the healing process during a hospital stay.”
In the last year, AdventHealth Winter Garden had:
- 3,394 - Hospital admissions
- 24,948 - ER visits
- 3,849 - Procedures
As a result of opening the inpatient tower, AdventHealth Winter Garden hired 450 new team members.
