WEST VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Four cardiologists are now seeing patients in DeLand, Orange City and Deltona, expanding access to heart care for people across West Volusia.
The physicians are part of AdventHealth Medical Group, a network of nearly 500 physicians and advanced practice providers in Flagler, Lake, St Johns and Volusia counties representing 30 specialties. Together, they cared for more than one million patient visits in 2025. Also, last year, AdventHealth recruited nearly 115 physicians and advanced practitioners across the division.
In West Volusia, these new cardiologists will work closely with care teams at AdventHealth DeLand and AdventHealth Fish Memorial, where patients can receive heart testing, procedures and follow-up care.
With more than a quarter of Volusia County residents age 65 or older, the need for heart specialists has continued to grow in West Volusia.
Heart concerns don’t always begin with dramatic warning signs. Symptoms such as shortness of breath, fatigue or mild discomfort can be easy to dismiss, making it especially important for people to have cardiologists nearby when something doesn’t feel right.
"Timely access to heart care matters,” said Bryan Mueller, president and CEO of AdventHealth Medical Group. “Expanding our presence in West Volusia allows patients to see specialists sooner and receive high-quality care close to home. Our cardiologists are an integral component of our medical group and this will help strengthen our specialty presence and collaboration with primary care and other specialists so patients receive timely, whole person care close to home."
For West Volusia residents, the expansion means more opportunities to receive specialized heart care locally.
