After seeing our community’s recent surge in COVID-19 cases, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, a sister hospital of AdventHealth Gordon, showed support for local frontline team members. Based in Kansas, the hospital sent Jack Stack Barbecue to AdventHealth Gordon for frontline team members to enjoy.
“AdventHealth is really just a big family, and when our team learned about the struggles facing our AdventHealth Gordon team during this latest COVID-19 surge, we wanted to do whatever we could to help,” said Sam Huenergardt, chief executive officer of AdventHealth’s Mid-America Region. “The Gordon team are heroes, and we hope the Kansas City Jack Stack Barbecue and words of encouragement from us bring some hope and nourishment to those caring for the Northwest Georgia community.”
In addition to donating food, the AdventHealth Shawnee Mission team sent an uplifting video with words of encouragement for the AdventHealth Gordon team.
“We are grateful for this generous gesture from AdventHealth Shawnee Mission,” said Amy Jordon, chief nursing officer of AdventHealth Gordon and AdventHealth’s Southeast Region. “It means so much to have the support of our broader AdventHealth family. This act of kindness shows the heart of our organization.”
