AdventHealth team members and community leaders cut the ribbon for the new facilities located on U.S. 27 in Haines City during a special event, Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
The new facilities are designed to make it easier for people to get care when they need it, close to home and on their schedule.
HAINES CITY, Fla. — Families in Northeast Polk County now have more convenient options for their everyday health needs with the opening of new, side-by-side AdventHealth Centra Care and AdventHealth Primary Care+ locations on U.S. 27 in Haines City. The new facilities are designed to make it easier for people to get care when they need it, close to home and on their schedule.
AdventHealth Centra Care provides walk-in urgent care seven days a week for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Patients can be treated for sprains, infections, fevers and other concerns that shouldn’t wait for a scheduled appointment.
AdventHealth Primary Care+ offers same-day, evening and weekend appointments with a doctor or advanced practice provider, along with virtual visit options. The practice is tailored for people looking for flexible, ongoing primary care without long waits.
“Many people put off care simply because they’re not sure where to go,” said Rob Paswaters, AdventHealth chief operating officer and vice president of retail services. “By bringing urgent and primary care together in one convenient place, we’re helping patients get timely care that fits into their day whether it’s something minor or something they’ve been meaning to address.”
The new AdventHealth Centra Care clinic is at 35716 US Highway 27 N in Haines City, with AdventHealth Primary Care+ located next door. Both locations are just four miles from AdventHealth Heart of Florida. The added access will help address a growing need for timely, affordable care in Polk County, which has seen the population grow by more than 20% within a decade.
For patients, these care sites offer a more cost-effective and faster option for many minor concerns. Choosing urgent or primary care instead of an emergency room for non-emergencies means shorter wait times, lower costs and more availability in local hospital ERs for true emergencies.
“Our emergency department is always ready for critical situations, but many everyday issues can be cared for more quickly and more affordably at AdventHealth Centra Care or Primary Care+,” said Dr. Sathya Ramakrishnan, chief medical officer of AdventHealth Polk Market. “It helps patients get back to their day sooner and ensures people experiencing life-threatening emergencies are seen even faster.”
Both sites will be open seven days a week and are fully integrated with AdventHealth Heart of Florida, giving patients access to shared electronic health records, seamless referrals and coordinated follow-up care.
“It’s really about making care easy,” Paswaters said. “If your child gets hurt on the weekend, AdventHealth Centra Care is right here. If you’ve been managing a chronic condition or need a routine visit, AdventHealth Primary Care+ can see you quickly. And if you ever need a specialist, those resources are connected and close by. It puts the whole health care system within reach.”
