AdventHealth physicians and care teams will again provide free pre-participation sports physicals and ECG screenings for Volusia County students on April 2-5 at the Daytona International Speedway, 1801 W. International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach.
Open to Volusia County public school student athletes, ROTC and band members and firefighting academy students, this annual event is part of AdventHealth’s formal partnership with Volusia County schools.

The physical includes free ECG heart screenings, which are above and beyond any state or county requirements. However, AdventHealth elects to provide these free screenings as sudden cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death among high school athletes.
Pre-registration is available at www.VCSSportsPhysicals.com.
For years, AdventHealth has provided free sports physicals to Flagler and Volusia County student athletes, and these events have grown in attendance, becoming one of the largest community events AdventHealth conducts annually in the area.
In 2024, AdventHealth performed nearly 1,800 free sports physicals for Volusia County and Flagler County student athletes, JROTC cadets, fire academy students, and band members.

Additionally, over 15% of the attending students stated they do not have a primary care physician. This highlights the significance of these annual events as a critical means of giving students in the area access to medical care.
