AdventHealth and Intermountain Health plan to unite their Denver-area services to bring more accessible, connected care to the area’s growing communities. The two healthcare systems have signed a definitive agreement to form a joint venture that will improve access to high-quality healthcare in the greater Denver metro area, serve the growing population, and provide care for future generations.
The proposed affiliation will bring together AdventHealth’s five hospitals in the Denver area (AdventHealth Avista, AdventHealth Castle Rock, AdventHealth Littleton, AdventHealth Parker, and AdventHealth Porter), along with off-site emergency and urgent care centers and dozens of medical practices, and three Intermountain hospitals (Good Samaritan Hospital, Lutheran Hospital, and Platte Valley Hospital), along with their related physician practices and clinics.
"Partnering with Intermountain Health represents an opportunity to build on our shared commitment to deliver high-quality, compassionate care," said David Banks, president and CEO of AdventHealth. "By bringing together the capabilities of our organizations, we can expand access, augment services, enhance clinical quality and continue improving the health and well-being of people across the greater Denver metro, guided by our mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ."
"At Intermountain, our mission is helping people live the healthiest lives possible — patients and all those in the communities we serve. AdventHealth is aligned on this focus," said Rob Allen, president and CEO of Intermountain Health. "We are excited about the prospect of a joint venture that would expand access to high-quality care and create a more connected experience for patients and care teams across the greater Denver area."
Under the agreement, AdventHealth will manage and lead daily operations, utilizing its whole-person care approach and aligned care platforms to support a connected experience for patients and care teams across the area.
Both organizations share a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and are thoughtfully evaluating how they plan to enhance their respective capabilities to better serve patients, care teams, and the broader community. The transaction is expected to close in early 2027 and remains subject to regulatory approvals.
