Team members and executive leadership celebrate top rankings at AdventHealth Daytona Beach.
For the first time, four hospitals from AdventHealth’s East Florida Division have been ranked among U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals — signaling rising clinical performance and growing community impact.
AdventHealth Daytona Beach maintained its No. 1 position in the Deltona–Daytona Beach metro area, while AdventHealth Fish Memorial and AdventHealth Palm Coast claimed the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively — both appearing in the rankings for the first time. AdventHealth Waterman also broke into the competitive Orlando metro rankings at No. 3.
These rankings reflect broad-based improvements across the region, fueled by strong growth and focused investment.
Over the past year, the AdventHealth East Florida Division welcomed 120 new physicians and advanced practice providers, performed a record 67,000 surgeries, and saw a 13% rise in admissions — even as patients spent less time in the hospital on average—a signal of better outcomes and more efficient care.
That progress translated to a 64% increase in “High Performing” recognitions across key service lines, jumping from 25 to 41. These include procedures and conditions such as heart attack care, stroke treatment, joint repair, and cancer surgery — areas where better outcomes often translate directly into lives saved and families preserved.
“These rankings reflect a lot of hard work from thousands of people behind the scenes,” said Rob Deininger, president and CEO of the AdventHealth East Florida Division. “Our teams have made real progress, and we’re proud of that — but we didn’t do it for the internal recognition. External recognition like this tells each of the communities we serve that they can count on AdventHealth to deliver the highest quality healthcare. We strive daily to deliver better results for the people who count on us, every single day. That’s what keeps us
moving forward.”
The AdventHealth East Florida Division is the region’s largest hospital system, with seven hospitals, 75 practice locations, and a workforce of more than 11,000 team members serving Flagler, Lake, and Volusia counties.
Top Performers by Metro Area
- AdventHealth Daytona Beach: #1 in Deltona–Daytona Beach Metro; 14 High Performing designations
- AdventHealth Fish Memorial: #2 in Deltona–Daytona Beach Metro; 8 High Performing designations
- AdventHealth Palm Coast: #3 in Deltona–Daytona Beach Metro; 8 High Performing designations
- AdventHealth Waterman: #3 in Orlando Metro; 9 High Performing designations
Additionally, AdventHealth DeLand and AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach were recognized for clinical excellence in the treatment of COPD and pneumonia.
Statewide Celebration: Central Florida’s #1 Ranking
While the East Florida Division celebrates regional gains, AdventHealth Orlando earned U.S. News’ top ranking as the No. 1 hospital in Florida and one of the Top 20 hospitals in the nation.
This marks the 15th year AdventHealth Orlando has held the No. 1 spot in the Orlando Metro area and solidifies its national reputation for clinical leadership.
“For more than three decades, U.S. News has been an invaluable guide for patients,” said Managing Editor and Chief of Health Analysis Ben Harder at U.S. News. “With a ‘Best Hospital’ recognition, Americans, in consultation with their medical providers, can confidently choose a hospital known for providing superior care. U.S. News’ 20 Honor Roll hospitals excel at treating patients across a wide range of specialties, procedures and conditions.”
U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions. To determine the Best Hospitals, U.S. News analyzed each hospital’s performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care. The Best Hospitals Specialty rankings methodology and Procedures & Conditions ratings methodology measure patient outcomes using data from over 800 million records of patient care.
