HENDERSONVILLE, NC, May 1, 2025 – AdventHealth Hendersonville has once again earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog dedicated to patient safety. Leapfrog assigns grades ranging from “A” to “F” to general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 performance measures, including errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them. This prestigious designation sets the highest standards for patient safety in the United States. Earning an “A” recognizes AdventHealth Hendersonville as one of America’s safest hospitals.
The 2025 Spring Safety Grade marks AdventHealth Hendersonville’s 18th consecutive ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade. This achievement also reflects an increase in our hospital's numerical score. Our continuous and consecutive top safety scores are a testament to AdventHealth’s unwavering commitment to patient safety and our dedication to providing the highest-quality care for every patient, every time.
One example of this commitment is the significant strides in researching and adopting a new algorithm that ensures our pediatric patients receive the safest dose of radiation necessary during CT scans of their heads. This initiative over the past year has been part of our ongoing efforts to minimize radiation exposure and reduce the risk of CT-related cancers in children.
"Receiving our 18th consecutive ‘A' grade for safety from The Leapfrog Group is a testament to our dedication to patient safety,” said Brandon Nudd, FACHE, President and CEO for AdventHealth Hendersonville. “This recognition underscores the tireless efforts and commitment of our entire team at AdventHealth Hendersonville. We are honored to be acknowledged as one of the safest hospitals in America, and we remain committed to delivering exceptional, whole-person care to every person choosing us for their health care."
“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade reflects enormous dedication to patient safety,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I extend my congratulations to AdventHealth Hendersonville, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for creating a culture where patients come first.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
