AdventHealth is proud to announce Karen Preston, RN, BSN, MHA, ACM-RN, as its new Director of Care Management at AdventHealth Hendersonville. Preston brings more than a decade of leadership experience and a steadfast commitment to AdventHealth’s mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ. As a servant leader, Preston empowers her team to deliver patient-centered and optimized care management across AdventHealth’s growing network of care in Western North Carolina.
Preston’s combined passion for helping others and teaching is what led her to eventually choose a career in health care. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, NC, and continued on to receive her Master of Health Administration degree from Pfeiffer University.
Preston is dedicated to working collaboratively with health care providers, patients and families to ensure that patients receive the highest-quality care, resources and support that promote ongoing and sustained whole-person care for every patient, every time.
“Our team is empowered to assist our patient/families in a safe discharge plan that supports body/mind/spirit,” Preston explains. “We help navigate the complexities of health care to support positive patient outcomes and safe transitions of care.”
Preston is excited to be part of an organization that truly embodies the spirit of being the “hands and feet” of Christ as they provide compassionate, whole-person care to the community in Western North Carolina.

Preston and her husband have two adult daughters, and enjoy living in beautiful Western North Carolina, where her husband’s family has deep roots in the Appalachian Mountain community. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially her new granddaughter.
