Mack Vendome is the new mission and ministry chaplain director for the AdventHealth Georgia market.
AdventHealth is excited to welcome three exceptional leaders to the AdventHealth Georgia mission and ministry team. Each brings a unique blend of experience, compassion and dedication to the company’s sacred calling of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ. Their presence strengthens their commitment to whole-person care and deepens their spiritual foundation across the Georgia market and beyond.
Mack Vendome joins AdventHealth Georgia as the new mission and ministry Georgia market chaplain director, with primary responsibilities at AdventHealth Redmond. A board-certified chaplain with specialized training in crisis intervention and debriefing, Mack has served faithfully with AdventHealth since 2019, most recently leading the chaplain team at AdventHealth Fish Memorial in central Florida. His leadership is rooted in compassion, and he is passionate about creating environments of wholeness that extend beyond hospital walls and into the heart of our communities. Originally from Georgia, Mack is excited to return home, reconnect with family, and experience the beauty of all four seasons — especially fall! He is recently engaged to Ange Benjamin and looks forward to contributing meaningfully to the AdventHealth mission.
Elijah Walters joins AdventHealth Gordon and AdventHealth Murray as the new director of mission and ministry. Elijah comes to Georgia from AdventHealth Winter Park in central Florida, where he primarily served as the chaplain for critical care. His AdventHealth journey began in 2019 at AdventHealth Orlando, and he holds degrees from Oakwood University and AdventHealth University. Born and raised in Long Island, New York, Elijah brings a vibrant energy and heartfelt passion for ministry. He’s excited to be part of the Georgia team and looks forward to building meaningful connections.
Jocelyn Shaw, MDiv, BCC transitioned into the role of vice president of mission and ministry for the Southeast Region in August. Jocelyn has been a vital part of the AdventHealth team for the past four years, serving as director of pastoral services for AdventHealth Hendersonville and AdventHealth Polk in western North Carolina. With nine years of chaplaincy experience and 11 years with AdventHealth, Jocelyn brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to the company’s values. Her compassionate leadership has earned the admiration of colleagues, patients, and community members alike. While she now serves in a regional capacity, Jocelyn will continue to provide local ministry support from her office in North Carolina.
AdventHealth Georgia is grateful to welcome Mack Vendome, Elijah Walters and Jocelyn Shaw to the AdventHealth Georgia mission and ministry team. Their leadership, compassion, and dedication to whole-person care will be instrumental in advancing the mission and enriching the spiritual life throughout northwest Georgia.
