ORANGE CITY, Fla., November 14, 2019 – AdventHealth Fish Memorial recognized registered nurse Charlotte Rivera with the DAISY award.
The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care provided by nurses.
Rivera is a nurse in the intensive care unit (ICU) and was nominated for this recognition by a patient at AdventHealth Fish Memorial.
“Charlotte took excellent care of me and went out of her way to make me feel at else. She explained everything that was going on in a way that I could understand,” the patient wrote.
“She showed me that she is invested in her job and the people that she cares for. Thanks to her care, my recovery has gone much smoother than I expected,” the patient added. “She is an outstanding person and you should be proud to have her on your team!”
Created in 1999, more than 2,500 healthcare facilities in all 50 states, as well as 15 other countries, use the DAISY Award to honor nurses.
In recognition of this honor, Rivera received a bouquet of daisies, a certificate, a tote bag, and a hand-carved stone sculpture of the “Healer’s Touch” by an artist of the Shona Tribe in Zimbabwe.
Her department, the AdventHealth Fish Memorial medical/surgical unit, also received cinnamon rolls and a DAISY banner to display.
