DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., February 5, 2020 - AdventHealth Daytona Beach recognized patient care technician Claudia Blanton with the Sunshine Award.
The Sunshine Award was created by AdventHealth Daytona Beach to honor patient care technicians who go above and beyond to deliver outstanding care to patients.
Blanton works in the surgical nursing unit and was nominated for the Sunshine Award by Melissa Kelly, assistant nurse manager.
“One of our patients who was in the hospital for over two months told Claudia that he missed visiting with his wife,” Kelly wrote in a nomination form. “Unfortunately, his wife couldn’t drive to see him, so on her day off, Claudia picked up the patient’s wife and brought her to the hospital. That’s is a true example of living out our mission!”
In recognition of this honor, Blanton received a pin, bouquet of flowers, cookies, and banner to display.
