Vascular Laser Treatment
Vascular laser treatment is an option for addressing a wide variety of dermatologic conditions ranging from rosacea to spider veins, facial capillaries, port wine stains, warts and more. This outpatient treatment does not require anesthesia and can be performed in your doctor’s office. With the patient wearing protective eye gear, a “V-beam” laser is applied to vascular lesions, which are destroyed by targeting their underlying blood vessels with the laser’s heat. Surrounding tissues are protected in part by targeting only brief pulses of laser light to a very specific area. While some pain is associated with the procedure, a cooling spray that is applied just after the laser can lessen patients’ discomfort considerably. Many insurance plans will cover vascular laser treatment for conditions such as congenital, bleeding or growing lesions.
