Pediatric Hip Disorders

Our orthopedic specialists are experts at diagnosing and treating all manner of congenital and acquired pediatric hip disorders. Some of the many conditions that we see in children include developmental pediatric hip dysplasia, Perthes disease, labral tears (hip cartilage tears), slipped capital femoral epiphysis, femoroacetabular impingement and Legg-Calve-Perthes Disease. Treatments for these disorders range from specially designed harnesses for newborns to surgery, bracing and casting at a later age. In many cases, early treatment of a hip disorder is key to the child being able to develop a normally functioning hip joint.
