Due to the difficulty of obtaining an organ for transplant that matches the patient’s profile, the potential for post-operative complications and the complexity of the procedure, a partial or complete liver transplantation is the last treatment option for patients with irreversible liver dysfunction that may be caused by liver cancer, cirrhosis, Hepatitis B or C, fatty liver disease, bile duct disease, autoimmune liver disease or possibly a genetic liver disorder.
