Foot Dysplasia
Dysplasia is a disorder that results in the overgrowth of the cartilage on the end of the long bones in the feet. This overgrowth can cause pain and difficulty walking, and may cause calluses and corns to develop due to the frequent rubbing of the toes. If left untreated, dysplasia can eventually lead to cancer and permanent deformity. If dysplasia is detected early, cancer can usually be prevented once treatment starts. Treatment will vary depending on the type of dysplasia and the severity of the condition, but may include skin grafts, medication, physical therapy and surgery to remove the affected bone.
