Capsulitis
Capsulitis is an inflammation of the capsule that surrounds your joints and helps them function correctly. In foot capsulitis, the most common joint that is affected is the ball of the foot. Wearing poorly fitting shoes and performing repetitive activities that stretch the ligament can result in the development of capsulitis. Bunion deformity, an unstable foot arch and tight calf muscles can also contribute to the occurrence of this condition. Capsulitis is usually treated conservatively in the early stages to reduce symptoms and prevent progression. Rest, ice, taping or splinting, stretching, lifestyle adjustments and anti-inflammatory medications are all common forms of treatment.
