After graduating from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, Dr. Auld received his medical degree from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. He went on to complete an orthopedic residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and a joint replacement fellowship at Johns Hopkins.
