Fewer Treatments, Better Outcomes
The AdventHealth Cancer Institute Shawnee Mission, will soon be the first and only health care center in Kansas City to perform MRI-guided radiation therapy with the latest cancer-fighting technology, the Elekta Unity MR-Linac system. This advanced therapy uses MRI-Guided Radiation to view tumors in real-time during treatment, resulting in pinpoint precision, fewer sessions and reduced side effects.
Noninvasive Histotripsy for Liver Tumors
Our specialists are skilled in histotripsy, a leading-edge noninvasive treatment for liver tumors. This incisionless procedure uses focused, high-intensity sound waves rather than needles, incisions, radiation or heat. The sound waves can destroy targeted tumor tissue while preserving surrounding healthy tissue. Histotripsy offers a faster recovery than many other treatments, helping you get back to the life you love.
Compassionate Support
Margaret Potter is an Oncology Nurse at AdventHealth Cancer Institute Shawnee Mission. For the last 12 years, Margaret has shaved her head to raise awareness and funds for patients going through cancer treatment.
