Our Services
It’s our priority to make each patient feel comfortable, cared for and confident in their treatment. Through the skills and experience of our expert providers, we specialize in treating multiple forms of cancer and conditions. We offer timely, accurate diagnoses and evidence-based treatment plans.
- Medical Oncology
-
Medical oncology focuses on treating cancer using medications that target and destroy cancer cells throughout the body. These therapies are often used to treat cancers that have spread or require systemic treatment and may be combined with surgery or radiation therapy.
Treatment plans may include:
- Chemotherapy
- Immunotherapy
- Targeted therapy
- Hormone therapy
These treatments work in different ways to slow, stop or eliminate cancer cells while supporting each patient’s overall treatment goals.
- Hematology Care
-
Hematology focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders, including both cancerous and noncancerous conditions affecting the blood, bone marrow and lymphatic system.
At AdventHealth, our specialists provide personalized care for conditions such as:
- Anemia and clotting disorders
- Leukemia
- Lymphoma
- Multiple myeloma
- Other blood-related diseases
- Chemotherapy
-
Chemotherapy, or chemo, is a cancer treatment that uses powerful drugs to destroy cancer cells.
We utilize chemotherapy to:
- Cure cancer by destroying cancerous cells
- Prevent the spread of cancer
- Relieve symptoms caused by cancer
- Slow cancer growth
Depending on the diagnosis and specific treatment plan, chemo can be administered via injection, topical creams, pills, capsules, liquids that a patient swallows or through intravenous (IV) infusion. Regardless of the delivery method, our physicians ensure that every patient is comfortable and relaxed during treatment.
- Cancer Surgery
-
Cancer surgery removes cancerous tissue from the body and is often used to treat localized cancers. It remains one of the most effective and commonly used approaches in cancer care and may be combined with radiation therapy, chemotherapy or other treatments.
Surgery may be recommended to:
- Confirm a diagnosis through biopsy
- Reduce tumor size before additional treatment
- Remove tumors and surrounding cancerous tissue
- Restore function or relieve symptoms
The type of surgery depends on the location, stage and type of cancer, as well as the patient’s overall treatment plan.
Modern surgical techniques focus on precision, safety and recovery. Whenever possible, minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures may be used to reduce pain, shorten recovery time and improve outcomes.
Every surgical treatment plan is personalized to support effective cancer treatment while preserving quality of life.
- Clinical Trials
-
As part of our cancer program, we have access to clinical trials that may provide investigational treatment options and emerging cancer therapies.
Clinical trials, often sponsored by pharmaceutical companies or research organizations, are studies conducted by physicians to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of new drugs, treatments or technologies in real-world settings. Participation in a clinical trial may provide eligible patients with additional treatment options while also contributing to the advancement of cancer research.
For more information on current clinical trials, patient eligibility and other considerations, call us at 303-765-6775, or visit Colorado Cancer Research | AdventHealth Research Institute.
