Closed Loop and Education for hypoglycemia Awareness Restoration (CLEAR)

CLEAR Study Purpose: blood sugar has weakened. This research study will use different types of education and devices to see if they can help you feel when your blood glucose is low.
Study Duration: 27-30 months
Study Commitment: Up to 19 in-person visits including 3 overnight stays. Some visits may be completed remotely as determined by randomization assignment.
Age: 18-75 years old
Sex: Male and Female
Conditions/Eligibility: -Diagnosis of T1D for at least 10 years
-A1c less than or equal to 10.5%
-have difficulty feeling low blood glucose episodes
-able to read and speak English
-able to safely operate an insulin pump (adequate vision and hearing)
Study Procedures: Vital signs and EKG
-Questionnaire completion
-Blood collections
-Clamp procedure
-Use a study app on your phone
-Participate in diabetes education (depending on randomization assignment)
-Use an insulin pump (depending on randomization assignment)
Compensation: Up to $5800
