Thyrotropinoma (TSHoma)

Expert, Compassionate Care for Thyrotropinoma (TSHoma)

Thyrotropinoma (TSHoma) is a slow-growing, benign tumor in the pituitary gland. These tumors produce too much thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), causing the thyroid gland to enlarge and secrete excess thyroxin. This leads to hyperthyroidism, a potentially serious medical condition. TSHoma is very rare, representing one to two percent of all pituitary adenomas. Symptoms include nervousness, irritability, weight loss and difficulty sleeping, although some people experience mild or no symptoms.

We specialize in minimally invasive treatments that can help you recover faster with less pain and scarring. These advanced techniques pinpoint affected tissue with millimeter precision, enabling our surgeons to remove the tumor or reduce its size and return normal function to the pituitary gland. Using the nasal cavity, your tumor can be treated without incisions.
