Clinical Trials

More Clinical Trials, More Lifesaving Options

Clinical trials offer access to new and emerging cancer treatments while helping advance care for future patients. At our AdventHealth Cancer Institute, our clinical trials are guided by compassion, scientific rigor and a commitment to whole-person care — body, mind and spirit.

Participating in a clinical trial offers many people a new, more hopeful path toward healing, with opportunities to try a promising medication or alternative gene therapy. With more than 175 clinical trials annually, our AdventHealth Cancer Institute is opening new doors through research and innovation. Clinical trials empower our patients with more cancer-fighting options than ever before.

Striving Toward Renewed Hope

At our AdventHealth Cancer Institute, we explore every possible option to help you heal in body, mind and spirit. One of the ways we do this is through clinical trials for experiential new therapies, groundbreaking medications and new diagnostic testing.

We offer patients access to clinical trials for all types of cancer, from brain and spine cancer to breast and lung cancer. If your care team believes you may benefit and qualify for one of our clinical trials, they’ll guide you through enrollment with your Nurse Navigator supporting you.

Clinical trials are carefully designed research studies that evaluate new ways to prevent, detect or treat cancer. These studies may test new therapies, new combinations of treatments or new approaches to care that are not yet widely available.

Every clinical trial at AdventHealth follows strict safety standards and ethical guidelines. Participation is always voluntary, and your care team will walk with you through every decision — helping you understand the potential benefits, risks and alternatives, so you can choose what feels right for you.

For some patients, clinical trials provide access to promising treatments earlier than standard care alone. For others, they offer additional options when facing complex or advanced diagnoses.

Participating in a clinical trial may allow you to:

  • Access innovative therapies guided by leading cancer specialists
  • Contribute to research that may help improve outcomes for others
  • Receive close monitoring and coordinated care

Most importantly, clinical trials are one more way we support your individual journey, honoring your goals, values and overall well-being.

Care That Sees the Whole You:

At AdventHealth, clinical research is never separate from compassionate care. Our multidisciplinary teams work together to ensure that clinical trials are integrated into a treatment plan designed around you, not just your diagnosis.

We believe healing involves more than medicine alone. That’s why we provide support services alongside treatment, including emotional and spiritual care, patient navigation and resources for families and caregivers.
