Dr. Carley E. Glass is a research scientist at the Translational Research Institute and with Transplant Research. She pursues investigations on the topic of whole organ research with emphasis on diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Dr. Glass has spearheaded a program for fellow researchers to obtain organs and tissue from research consented donors. Through this initiative, Dr. Glass has collected organs and tissue to support a myriad of research endeavors as well as has generated a targeted biorepository dedicated to the advancement of medical technology, education, training, and discovery to advance identification and characterization of biomarkers of diease. From 2011-2016 prior to joining the TRI, Dr. Glass was a scientific director for a cellular therapy company aimed at treating coronary arterial disease and peripheral arterial disease using autologous cells. Dr. Carley Glass was born in St. Clair, Michigan. She earned a B.S. in Biology, an M.S. in Molecular Biology and Microbiology, and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Central Florida.
