AdventHealth Zephyrhills Named Accredited Geriatric ER

May 10, 2019 — (May 3, 2019) Zephyrhills, FL – AdventHealth Zephyrhills is the first hospital in the AdventHealth system and only the second in Florida to be named an accredited silver status Geriatric Emergency Department by the Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation (GEDA) Program. This silver designation is awarded to hospitals that provide senior patients with an elevated care team who specialize in recognizing specific issues such as dementia, delirium and elder abuse. AdventHealth Zephyrhills sees around 6,000 senior patients each year.

AdventHealth Zephyrhills is dedicated to making it easy for seniors, and helping them feel safe, during and after a visit to the ER. The care team is staffed with physicians, transitional nurses, therapists, social workers and pharmacists who work specifically with seniors, their caregivers and primary care physicians to ensure each patient’s needs are met.
