Shelly Holmstrom, MD

Shelly Holmström, MD, is a board-certified OB/GYN serving the Tampa Bay community with over 20 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology. She offers women’s care for a lifetime, seeing patients ages 10 to 70 and partnering with them through every health milestone. In addition to routine OB/GYN care, Dr. Holmström performs gynecologic surgeries and basic infertility evaluations and is highly skilled in difficult IUD and NEXPLANON® removals. Whether she’s providing well-woman care or navigating a challenging procedure, Dr. Holmström is honored to care for women, and she truly enjoys building long-term connections with each patient.

Dr. Holmström completed medical school at the University of Florida College of Medicine and completed her residency training at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. Throughout her career, Dr. Holmström has served as a professor, residency program associate director and physician mentor. She has also presented at many national and international medical conferences and authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed medical journals. She is a member of several medical societies and is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

In her free time, Dr. Holmström enjoys many different hobbies, including cooking, knitting, calligraphy, reading, traveling and watching college football. Amongst family and friends,Dr. Holmström is known for her vibrant energy and warm laughter.
