Arthur Allen, MD

Arthur Allen, II, MD, is an experienced, Board-certified neurologist with AdventHealth Medical Group Neurology at Shawnee Mission in Merriam, Kansas.

Dr. Allen co-founded AdventHealth Medical Group Neurology at Shawnee Mission, then called Neurology Consultants, Chtd., in 1979. His co-founder, Michael Ryan, MD, retired in 2020.

Dr. Allen earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed a rotating internship at Los Angeles County - University of Southern California Medical Center. He completed both his internal medicine and neurology residencies at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. Between residencies, he served two years in the United States Air Force as an internist.

Dr. Allen has served as president of the Kansas City Neurologic Society and of the Medical Staff of St. Joseph Medical Center, among leadership roles with many other professional organizations. His extensive list of professional honors includes having earned Ingram's magazine's Kansas City's Top Doctors award on numerous occasions. He also has been honored by the Southwest Clinical Society as past president and director of clinics.
