Andrew Tanner, MD

Andrew Tanner, MD, is Medical Director of Radiation Services at the Cancer Center at AdventHealth Parker. Board-certified by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology, he maintains a broad range of clinical expertise in all aspects of radiation oncology, and he works closely with the AdventHealth Parker Breast Cancer team.

Dr. Tanner completed his medical residency at Memorial Sloane-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and then joined Midwest Radiation Oncology Consultants, where he spent 18 years. He was medical director at Northern Illinois Center for Cancer Care and was a founding partner at the Chicago Prostate Center. He has treated hundreds of prostate cancer patients.

An active participant of several professional organizations, Dr. Tanner was a member of the Board of Directors of McHenry Chapter of the American Cancer Society and chairman of the Cancer Center Committee of Northern Illinois.

Dr. Tanner realized a life-long dream of relocating to Colorado to spend the second half of his medical career, working at Rocky Mountain Cancer Center and as the director of Radiation Oncology at the Colorado Springs Cancer Center for several years before joining AdventHealth Parker.

To afford patients the highest quality of care, Dr. Tanner is especially interested in the advantages of state-of-the-art technology. He uses safe and effective radiation therapy treatments that include image-guided radiation therapy, surface-guided radiation therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery and intensity-modulated radiation therapy.

The Cancer Center at AdventHealth Parker maintains a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, where the medical, surgical and radiation specialist collaborate in the delivery of comprehensive treatment planning, from the initial diagnosis throughout the course of treatment and follow-up.
