OTTAWA, Kan., — AdventHealth Ottawa is pleased to welcome Raven Weiss, MD. Dr. Weiss is a Family Medicine/Obstetrics Provider, offering comprehensive care including general family medicine and specialized care during pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and newborn care.
“Dr. Weiss is a fantastic addition to the team, and we are excited to welcome her to Ottawa and the Franklin County community,” said Brendan Johnson, president and chief executive officer of AdventHealth Ottawa. “This is an exciting moment that builds on the December hiring of Dr. Bridget Abney and our continued efforts to resume OBGYN services at AdventHealth Ottawa.”
Dr. Weiss earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with minors in chemistry and fine arts with her residency at Research Family Medicine Residency in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Weiss brings a passion for women’s healthcare and serving the needs of patients at every stage of their pregnancy journey.
“I’m honored to be joining Dr. Abney in providing additional obstetrical care to patients in Ottawa and the surrounding region,” said Dr. Weiss. “I look forward to being a part of this community and joining the AdventHealth team in serving patients with compassionate, whole-person care.”
Beginning in August, Dr. Weiss will provide outpatient services at her office located at 901 S. Main Street in Ottawa, Kan. in the AdventHealth Ottawa Health Park, and at AdventHealth Primary Care Wellsville located at 424 Main St, Wellsville, KS 66092.
“This is a foundational step in reopening OB Services at AdventHealth Ottawa. Physician recruiting efforts continue and we will be posting labor and delivery nursing positions immediately to begin rebuilding the OB Services program at AdventHealth Ottawa,” said Johnson. “The target to reestablish the program this year remains solid even as we look to finalize recruitment of a third provider to complete the program services.”
Additional hiring will soon be underway to fill 11.5 full-time equivalent positions in the labor and delivery unit, in anticipation of the return of comprehensive services in the near future. Click here to view open positions and apply.
