AdventHealth Ottawa has launched a $5.2 million expansion and renovation project that will grow services and physician specialties offered to Franklin County residents. The three-phase project begins in June and is expected to be complete in late fall 2023.

The Gollier Building, located at 901 S. Main Street, will undergo a complete transformation to house Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Neurology, Sleep Medicine, Rheumatology, among others, as part of the rural health clinic. The renovations will more than double the square footage available for medical services, creating space for future growth and an improved patient experience. Suites three and four of the Franklin County Annex at 1428 S. Main Street will be renovated for rehab services, including physical, occupational and speech therapy.

“Significant investments have been made in our hospital, including a new 16,000 square feet emergency department, pre-surgery area and outpatient areas,” said Dallas Purkeypile, President and CEO of AdventHealth Ottawa. “Now we want to ensure patients we see outside the hospital have great access to a range of services in buildings representative of the quality of care they’ll receive.”

Upon completion of the renovation, AdventHealth Ottawa also expects to expand after-hours care, a service in demand for the community.

The project will spotlight services and improve curb appeal on Ottawa’s Main Street. AdventHealth partnered with local construction company Loyd Builders on the project. Physicians and team members, many of whom are Ottawa residents, have been engaged in the planning and design for the new spaces.

“This construction project and the expansion of outpatient services represents our commitment to offering whole-person care in Ottawa and to providing exceptional, high-quality health care for rural Kansas communities,” said Purkeypile.

AdventHealth Ottawa joined AdventHealth in May 2019 and has provided health care in Ottawa for more than 90 years. Since 2019, AdventHealth has added oncology and rheumatology services and continues to support Franklin County with numerous physician specialties.
