Biography

Victor Herrera, MD, is board certified in internal medicine and infectious disease. An Assistant Director of the AdventHealth Department of Graduate Medical Education and Internal Medicine Residency Program, he is a leading national authority on the use of interferon gamma release assays for the diagnosis of latent tuberculosis, and he has a special interest in teaching evidence-based diagnostic strategies to the next generation of infectious disease specialists. Dr. Herrera’s considerable credentials include his medical degree earned at the Universidad del Norte in Colombia, Chief Resident service at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, and dual fellowships in clinical immunology and infectious diseases at the University of Miami and Stanford University, respectively.
