Gynecologic oncology fellows Amanda J. Stephens, DO, and Christine K. Fitzsimmons, DO, actively participated in the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO) Business of Oncology Summit with “The Spring Session and Annual Meeting” held April 11-13, 2019, in Kissimmee, Florida. While Dr. Stephens represented AdventHealth as the “Gynecologic Oncology Fellow Liaison” to the Board of Directors, Dr. Fitzsimmons was elected as the “Surgical Oncology Fellow Liaison” of FLASCO.

In addition, Dr. Fitzsimmons was also recognized with the FLASCO Travel Award for participating in the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) 50th Annual Meeting on Women's Cancer held March 14-19, 2019, at the Hawai’i Convention Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. There she presented a clinical outcomes research poster entitled “Timing of Post-operative Foley Catheter Removal from Robotic-assisted Radical Hysterectomy in Patients with Early-stage Cervical Cancer,” authored by Drs. Christine K. Fitzsimmons, Amanda J. Stephens, Sarfraz Ahmad, Julie W. Pepe, Kayla M. DeCoff, Madhavi Manyam, Jessica A. Kennard, Nathalie D. McKenzie, Robert W. Holloway and James E. Kendrick.

In addition, AdventHealth’s fellows also presented a scientific research poster entitled “Recurrence and Survival After Robotic-assisted Radical Hysterectomy (RRH) for Early-Stage Cervical Cancer (CC): Experience May Matter” authored by Drs. Christine K. Fitzsimmons, Amanda J. Stephens, Jessica A. Kennard, Madhavi Manyam, Julie W. Pepe, Kayla M. DeCoff, Sarfraz Ahmad, Nathalie D. McKenzie, James E. Kendrick, and Robert W. Holloway.
