UChicago Medicine AdventHealth emergency departments are certified by the State of Illinois as Emergency Departments Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP). Our teams are specially trained to care for pediatric patients, and our emergency departments are stocked with specially designed equipment and supplies just for kids. We also have transfer agreements with tertiary centers to accept critically ill pediatric patients requiring a higher level of care.
Next-Level Pediatric Hospital Care
Pediatric hospitalists from the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital provide around-the-clock care for our youngest patients at our UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Hinsdale hospital. This benefit allows families access to comprehensive pediatric care close to home.
These specially trained pediatric providers care for acute and chronic conditions in kids, coordinate multidisciplinary care and oversee treatment plans during our littlest patients' hospital stays.
In addition to treating kids staying in the hospital, the pediatric hospitalists consult with our Hinsdale emergency room physicians on emergent pediatric cases and provide telemedicine consultations with our emergency department medical teams at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth La Grange.
