Biography

Dr. Machado is a board-certified oncologist, hematologist and internal medicine physician with more than 10 years of experience. He has a special interest in targeted therapies and non-chemotherapeutic approaches to cancer treatment, and he is an advocate for the early management of discomfort and pain for cancer patients. Dr. Machado earned his medical degree with honors at Saba University School of Medicine in the Dutch Caribbean and undertook his residency training at the University of Florida/Shands Hospital, where he was named Chief Resident. He obtained his sub-specialty training at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, where he completed his oncology/hematology fellowship as Chief Fellow.
