Qualifying for Home Health

AdventHealth Home Health accepts most insurance plans, including Medicare. Our services are available to anyone who:

  • Is under the care of a physician (only a physician can order home health services for their patient)
  • Lives in Volusia or Flagler Counties
  • Is considered “homebound" and requires the skills of a registered nurse, physical therapist, and/or speech language pathologist, during the course of treatment

To qualify for benefits under the Medicare program, you must be considered “homebound." Medicare considers a person to be “homebound” if:

  • You require considerable and taxing effort to leave home.
  • Absences from the home are infrequent and of short duration.
  • If your physician has advised that it is unsafe for you to leave home due to your medical or psychiatric condition.
