Biography

Nicholas Poulos, MD, FACS, is an award-winning pediatric surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Pediatric Surgical Association. He has served on the faculties of the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and University of Florida College of Medicine for many years and is a decorated Combat Surgeon and Colonel in the US Army Reserve Command. He joined AdventHealth for Children from Nemours Children’s Clinic in Jacksonville, where he was a noted pediatric surgeon for 17 years while simultaneously holding the posts of ECMO Medical Director and Trauma Medical Director at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Dr. Poulos earned his medical degree at West Virginia University and was Chief Surgical Resident at the University of Florida Health Science Center before completing his ECMO fellowship and pediatric surgery residency at Children’s Memorial Medical Center in Chicago.
