Biography

Asef Mahmud, MD, FAAP, is board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics. Dr. Mahmud received his medical degree from the University of South Florida and went on to complete a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of South Florida, achieving the rank of Chief Resident. Dr. Mahmud is a member of the American College of Physicians as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Mahmud is part of the SMILE with Stella Tremonti Down Syndrome Clinic and specializes in caring for adults with Down syndrome. His experience in pediatrics and internal medicine puts him in a unique position to be able to help ease the transition of primary and specialty care for patients as they enter adulthood.
