Schrader Family Cancer Center

Cancer Care Close to Home

With the addition of the Schrader Family Cancer Center on the campus of AdventHealth Castle Rock, our community now has better access to quality cancer care and advanced technology, close to home.

With a healing and patient-first mindset, we offer a wide range of oncology services, including chemotherapy, infusion therapy, an onsite pharmacy and an indoor/outdoor healing terrace designed to support patients and their families through their cancer treatment, recovery and beyond.

Castle Rock’s first cancer center is officially named for the Schraders, a local family to Castle Rock, who recognized the need for expert, faith-centered oncology care in our community. They understand what it means to have care close to home and how impactful it can be to everyone involved in the healing process.

Special Thanks to the Community of Castle Rock

More than 600 community donors fueled the completion of the Rock of Hope Campaign – bringing life-changing oncology expertise to Castle Rock. Lisa and Randy Schrader’s generosity was an instrumental part of this campaign. AdventHealth Castle Rock’s CEO, Michelle Fuentes, describes the Schraders as “humble, family-focused and deeply committed to serving others. Their willingness to invest in cancer care for our community is a profound act of love.”

Their generous contributions, made through the Rock of Hope Campaign, deepen our commitment to AdventHealth’s mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ by delivering world-class compassionate cancer treatment.

Our Services and Treatment Options

Cancer Care Services

We work together as a team — bringing together your surgeon, therapists and other providers to customize a complete cancer treatment plan. After your initial diagnosis, you’ll first meet with your oncologist. They’ll do a physical exam, review your medical history and study any imaging and lab reports.

Treatment Options

Your treatment may include a combination of options, such as:

  • Chemotherapy: Delivery of cancer-killing drugs through an IV or orally; usually given in rounds — before or after surgery — with a recovery period in between treatments
  • Hormone therapy: Medication for treating cancers that rely on hormones to grow by blocking or reducing the hormones your body makes
  • Radiation therapy: Uses high-powered X-rays, particles or radioactive seeds to damage the DNA of cancer cells, preventing them from growing or multiplying
  • Targeted therapies: Specific drugs that target the cancer cells that work differently than standard chemo, often with less severe side effects

Along with conventional treatment tools, we also offer complementary therapies. These include nutrition support, mind-body physical therapy, pain management and spiritual support.
