United Community Bank - Trina Stokes | Director
-
Growing up in the mountains of Western North Carolina, Trina has always been inspired to give back to the place that she calls home. Shortly after graduating from UNC Asheville, she secured her first job working in higher education. Tenaciously, she quickly learned and exuded skills that would ultimately land her in the role of the Executive Director of South College at 26 years old. While managing the multitude of facets it takes to run a college, Trina was also pursuing and securing her MBA from The University of Tennessee (Go Vols!). It was during this time that she realized she wanted to plant firm roots in Henderson County with her growing family.
Trina began her career as Major Gifts Officer with AdventHealth in March 2020 after a lengthy and fruitful career as the Executive Director of the Council on Aging for Henderson County. With vast experience in leadership and development, Trina’s ability to sharpen her project management skills allow her to wear many different hats in this role and garner a multitude of funding sources. Not long after, she was named the Strategic Planning Manager for AdventHealth and served in that capacity before being named the Director of the Foundation in August of 2022.
As an enneagram type 3, nicknamed The Achiever, Trina continuously and successfully strives to meet the ever-growing philanthropic needs of our community and health system. Serving on various boards throughout the area, including President of the Board for Carolina Village, Henderson County Partnership for Health, and the Henderson County Transportation Advisory Board where she enjoys collaborating with other local leaders.
When not at work making magic happen, Trina is seen cheering on her three kids in their baseball, motocross, and dance endeavors. Trina and her husband Brad also enjoy frequenting local restaurants and making memories with their kids.
- Trinka King | Corporate Development Officer
-
In 2008, Trinka joined the Hospital Foundation and has grown into her role as Corporate Development Officer. She enjoys building relationships in local community businesses and forging transformative partnerships to support the worthy and lifesaving charitable services at AdventHealth.
Fundraising for a community-based health system allows Trinka the wonderfully rewarding ability to connect vested donors with their personal passions. When cancer causes a scare, or a stroke or heart attack hit close to home, it ignites a compounding desire to make a difference. Being the conduit to help someone funnel this energy into state of the art medical equipment, treatment, and services, provides the constant good-hearted feeling that brings her so much joy in this satisfying and worthwhile work.
With over a decade of experience in this role, Trinka has fostered immeasurable bonds with corporations that will continuously withstand the test of time. Being able to walk hand-in-hand in witnessing the remarkable achievements that corporate philanthropy has on our health system has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of her long-withstanding career.
In addition to her role at AdventHealth, Trinka serves on The Salvation Army Advisory Board of Directors and is dedicated to their desire to make a difference in the lives of families in the community.
When Trinka is not working, she enjoys cooking with her husband, spending time with family and friends, watching a great thriller or reading a good book, traveling, and enjoying the ever-loved genre of elevator music.
